Facebook has selected FixU for its FbStart programme and as part of the investment, the startup will get access to services and tools, global events and opportunities to engage with networking giant.
City-based startup FixU, a home service aggregator, has got funding support worth $40,000 (Rs 27.21 lakh) from social networking major Facebook. The investment is in the form of credits wherein the startup will get to interact with Facebook developers and get free access to 25 services including App Analytics, Account Kit and others.
The startup provides home services like plumbers, electricians, carpenters within a few hours. It currently has 170 vendors on board and caters to about 25 orders per day with an average ticket size of Rs 500.
“Going ahead, by the end of 2017 we want to get into multiple cities with Bengaluru and Mumbai being the first two cities on our radar,” said Vamshi Krishna who started the company with Nikhil four months back.
FixU is the first Hyderabad-based startup to have got support from Facebook. As part of the support, they will get access to all the services for a period of six to 12 months. Under the programme, it will also get mentoring from Menlo Park-headquartered tech giant’s engineering teams.
With this support from the giant, the startup is looking at a funding opportunity of $250,000 (Rs 1.7 crore) by mid-2017. “What makes us different is that we are economical and fast,” Vamshi Krishna explains.
